For most solid industrial elastomers durometer ranges from 30-70 Shore A.

$\"\"$ Synthetic Natural Rubber (Polyisoprene) IR

Good at abrasion, tear resistant and flame resistant
Poor at heat, ozone, UV, oil, & fuel resistance
Higher in cost than Natural Rubber
Temperature: -40 to 180 degrees Fahrenheit
Easier to produce than organic natural rubber •More resistant to grease and oil than organic rubber.

$\"\"$ Neoprene (Polychloroprene) – CR

Initially a trade name for DuPont
Good at general purpose elastomer
Moderate oil & ozone resistance
Compression set resistant
Fungus resistant & flame retardant characteristics if high content of polychloroprene is in compound.
Poor at limited fuel resistance
Temperature: -40 to 220 degrees Fahrenheit

Referred to as EPDM, EPT, EP or some variation in ethylene propylene
Is considered to be the most economic polymer, widest environmental resistance.
Good at temperature resistance
Ozone & UV resistant
Non-staining to painted surfaces
NBC resistant
Poor at fuel & Oil resistance and difficult to bond to
Temperature: -60 to 240 degrees Fahrenheit (Peroxide curing system) -60 to 300 degrees Fahrenheit
